The weekly idioms & slang challenge · #01

Crack the
Expression

Three useful expressions for work and everyday conversations. Can you solve all three, one clue at a time?

Guess early for more points—or take another clue. No timer. Just a little English detective work.

Three expressions. Can you crack them?

3expressions
4clues each
12possible points
  1. Read the first clue. Try to guess the American English expression.
  2. Need help? Tap Reveal Next Clue. Each new clue makes the answer easier.
  3. Type the full expression. Once a clue shows a blank, you can type just the missing word instead.

Example: If a clue says “Let’s get the ball ___,” type rolling or get the ball rolling.

No timer. Wrong guesses cost no points. Try again or take another clue whenever you need to!

How the points work

Solve after clue 1 for 4 points, clue 2 for 3, clue 3 for 2, or clue 4 for 1. Wrong guesses do not reduce your score. Only revealing another clue reduces the points available. Revealing the answer earns 0. A single-letter spelling slip or two swapped neighboring letters get a chance to be corrected without a penalty.
